The beginning - Moving Dirt Concrete Videos Lessons - How To Concrete DVD Tutorials

I\'d planned on adding some commentary to this, but the mic developed a sudden case of dead batteries... :-)We start on what will be the 10th tee. It\'s a par 4, with a dogleg to the left. Just off the front of the tee is one of several new lakes, being checked out by one of our resident Mallards. Piles of dirt are placed for adding elevations and contours along the fairway. At the far end, a track hoe is at work behind the future location of the green complex. A pile of concrete at the left awaits disposal, the remains of an old cart path.Beyond the green, #11 is on our right, #18 is on the left, with the largest of the new lakes between them. It\'s over 4 acres of water where there used to be turf.\n\nCruising along the right side of the lake, with a few different views of it on the way, we skip past #11 green and #12 tee, an area temporarily on hold pending some design changes.\n\nAs we approach the 12th green, a pan to the left shows the mounding that will be a backdrop for the 17th green and the 18th tee, and off in the distance, the big lake we just passed.\n\nThe 12th green, and its surrounding area, is undergoing preliminarygrading and shaping. You can see the beginning of the recessed area that will eventually become the putting surface. It\'ll be graded 15 inches deep, with a 3 inch layer of drainage at the bottom, followed by 12 inches of a special soil mix. After the finish grading of the surface, TifDwarf hybrid bermudagrass will be sprigged into it, then grown-in to produce the finished putting green. At this point, we\'re in the neighborhood of 6 months away from putting on it.\n\nEnough for now. We\'ll be back for another look as things evolve. Enjoy.
